Plant Technician

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain plant components, networks, communications and other systems to ensure plant reliability. Schedules and conducts planned maintenance activities as well as responds to emergent maintenance issues. Troubleshoot, test, and repair equipment as required. Recommend enhancements and implement improvements to improve plant output.
  • Review facility operating data and resolve problems that are affecting facility output. Track causes and implement corrective actions. Assist Asset Managers, Operators, and Electricians in resolving technical issues with facilities. Write procedures and establish plans to facilitate rapid identification and remediation of SCADA, networking and communications problems.
  • Maintain knowledge of renewable technologies commercially available particularly SCADA systems, PLCs, networking technologies and communications equipment.
  • Utilize working knowledge of various equipment suppliers technologies to ensure CED systems are up to date.
  • Prepare maintenance plans, log entries, and reports to management; manage administrative tasks
  • Qualifications

    Education:

    • Associates degree in electrical technology required or well documented relevant work in field service engineering for a major component supplier.

    Experience:

    • 5+ years field service or power plant experience in energy-related technologies and applications required
    • Power distribution systems experience a plus
    • Experience in the overall aspects of design engineering, construction, start-up/commissioning, and subsequent O&M of energy projects
    • Specific experience in the operation and maintenance of large scale PV solar technologies strongly preferred
    • Production data evaluation and implementation of corrective actions
    • Working knowledge of electricity and hazards posed by electrical equipment and conductors is required
    • Experience establishing programs and performing preventive/predictive maintenance on power plant equipment.

    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
    • Must have a valid driver s license and willing to travel to CED facilities
    • Experience using Microsoft Office suite of products
    • Knowledge of plant networks and control systems
    • Ability to work nights and weekends required
    • Pushing/pulling/lifting tools and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
    • Walking/climbing/standing extensively during the work day

    The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
